Beyond photography, I love photography especially in those times when I am possessed by inspiration.

Marcelo del Pozo was born in Seville, Spain, in the summer of 1970. At the age of seven he received a camera as a gift from his parents, which would soon become his favorite object. Always with a camera nearby, what began as a hobby became over time in his passion and profession.

His career as a photographer began in 1995 in the Spanish newspaper El Mundo for five years. His coverage in southern Spain attracted the attention of Reuters, where he worked as a staff photographer 20 years and where his career takes off and consolidates.

He has covered a multitude of national and international events for the British agency. In the field of sports, he has covered four Olympic Games (Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016), in addition to the soccer world cups of South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014. In Spain he has provided extensive coverage of the economic crisis with both financial and human reportage, as well as scores of coverage and exhibitions on culture, social issues and festivals in Andalusia.

I have traveled to many countries, but from all my experience I remain with all those people who have pleasantly surprised me for their greatness, kindness and humility.

Marcelo del Pozo currently lives in the Andalusian capital of Seville, southern Spain, embarking on a new stage full of challenges and works as a freelancer on different projects, with the purpose of further advancing professionally.
